The
Solution...
The
Problem...
As
a Health Commissioner, you know that communicable disease reporting is
the cornerstone of public health surveillance and disease control.
Prompt reporting gives you time to interrupt disease transmission, and
contain outbreaks.
Our
state laws require physicians to submit communicable disease
reports to their local health agency. Yet, why do so few
physicians comply? They do not comply because it is an onerous,
time-consuming task; and because there is no enforcement. They ignore
the law, and the law ignores them.
Health
departments have come to rely upon data from laboratories. However,
the time delay inherent in laboratory reporting can put an entire
community at risk. Remember, successful surveillance is predicated
upon early detection.
Physicians
are our first line of defense against biological terrorism.
Timely reporting and a watchful Health Department is our safety net.
As
a Health Commissioner, why not provide your area physicians with a
paperless, effortless, timely, and accountable means or reporting? The
physician would benefit. You would benefit. Your entire community would
benefit.
I
have a simple, inexpensive solution that will enable your
physicians to electronically submit communicable disease reports
directly to your health department. You would be able to see
statistical patterns as they emerge, minute by minute. Not week by
week. This state-of-the-art technology is only a few mouse clicks
away.
If
I have piqued your interest, if early detection is your goal, please
allow me to show your my solution. It is simple. It is inexpensive. It
is a solution that your physicians can Practice Today.
Sincerely,
~Lauretta Carroll
PS.
You might ask “Why don’t physicians provide themselves with this
solution?” Perhaps they do not see anything as being broken. As a
Health Commissioner, the BIG picture is in your lap. So is our safety.
I can help you help them help us.
The Solution...
The
solution is simple - ZERO redundancy. You must make the
reporting process a byproduct of the doctor's daily routine. This requires an
Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
The
solution is to provide each physician in your county with a
free, quality EMR, and teach them how to use it. Physicians
understand two things. They understand easy, and they
understand free. Practice Today (EMR) is both.
With
Practice Today (EMR), the physician creates a medical note for each
patient seen. Once a day, a single mouse click will transmit your
Communicable Disease report directly to your email box. This is
encrypted, of course, to protect patient privacy.
You
will be armed with up-to-date and complete patient information. This
is what you need in your war on communicable disease.
The
physician will be armed with HIPAA-compliant medical records
that are complete, easy to prepare, and never lost. Illegible
prescriptions and handwriting will disappear. Medical errors will
decrease.
Practice
Today (EMR) is available for a reasonable flat-fee to EVERY physician in your
county.

Today (EMR) and try it out. Download
